A right to cry

I ear-dropped a conversation between a mother and a boy after her boy fell off and was about to cry: “Stop! Boys don’t cry!”

As if God did not create boys without tears and without a desire to cry.

As if Boys were not human.

Take your time, child. To cry, to sob, to be sad. Take your time, but do not hold it too long. Be sad, and cry. Then think to figure out your situation and to be grateful. Then, take your time to improve your sadness. To improve your life. To fix your mistakes. To grow. To be happy and to smile.

Tears make you stronger, you know. But to be strong by killing your emotion will only dehumanize you.
