For the first time I met Cahya today. He came at hotel where I and Gita are staying. We were about to have dinner yet had needed to buy my ticket to go back to Jakarta *by the way it’d sold out*. We had dinner in Tio Ciu – one of the famous chinese restaurants in Jogjakarta. However, after finishing dinner – Gita asked to take becak to get back to our hotel. Arguing for awhile – *in the name of human rights* then we decided to take two becaks: I was with Gita in open top becak and Cahya was happy alone in usual becak *its roof was on* hehe
Mr. Becak: ini bundaran UGM, untuk balap honda.
Me: lho, mana balapannya?
Mr. Becak: Wooo, udah ngga boleh lagi thoooo
Me: Oooo. Lha, itu! Itu pada ngapain *pointed at bunch of male teens, gathering by the gate*
Mr. Becak: Oooo, itu kan pada mejeng
Mr. Becak: Lha iya tho? Anak muda sekarang kan sukanya mejeng
*I had not heard mejeng for ages hahahaahahah*
… and we kept moving – I mean he was carrying me and gita on his becak.
Gita: Bu! Bu! Look! *pointed at terompet*
Me: Oh, iya. Terompet ya? Mau tahun baru, Nak. Bagus ya?
Mr. Becak: Srompret! Nek terompet lha kan mestine awet. Wong iku mung kertas – yo srompret! Wong sediluk rusak!
…. we still kept moving. It was a slow motion coz Mr. Becak was going up the street carrying me and Gita in his becak.
A lady IN THE CAR *driver drove the car slowly next to our becak*: Mas! Mas! Adi Sucipto ke mana ya?
Mr. Becak *ngos-ngosan*: Itu *hosh* terus *hosh* belok kiri *hosh hosh*
… we still kept moving *slowly*. We were passing a restaurant. Several cars were parked outside. Pair of lovers had fight.
Male: *)*$)^%^&^*&%A#&%$*&^(#*&B *with very loud voice*
They stoped coz we (me, Gita and Mr. Becak) kept moving watching them – stared back to us (me, Gita and Mr. Becak) – ashamed (perhaps).
Male: Kowé ngetuti, aku mbengok! *mbengok tenan*
Mr. Becak: Wah. Kasar iku! Kasarrrrrrrrrr!
Oh, what a night! Thanks for Mr. Becak, Cahya and Gita.
